HOW TO GET TO THE ECO-CENTRE
1. From Bratislava airport to the bus/ train station
The airport ("letisko") lies 9km from the centre of Bratislava. When you are going from Bratislava's airport to Zvolen, first you have to go to Bratislava's main bus station (AS Mlynske Nivy) or toBratislava's main train station (Hlavna stanica). From the airport (letisko) to AS Mlynske Nivy you can take public transport. The best bus connection between Letisko and Mlynske Nivy is Bus no. 61 which you need to take to "Bajkalska" street. From "Bajkalska" street, take a trolleybus no.205 to Mlynske Nivy. For the main train station, Hlavna stanica, you also take Bus no. 61 which actually terminates at the train station. As for the tickets, you can buy them at the bus stops in the streetcar terminals. The ticket which you will need is called “60min through ticket” (60 minutový lístok) and costs 0,70EUR. 2. From the bus/train station in Bratislava to Zvolen
Bratislava – Zvolen (by bus)
Buses from the capital Bratislava, Autobusova stanica(Bus station) to the city of Zvolen run regularly; there is one almost every hour. The journey takes app. 3,5 hours and costs app. 9EUR. The first bus leaves at 4:25 am and the last bus at 22:30 pm. You can buy the ticket on the bus from the driver. Bratislava – Zvolen (by train)
The first train leaves at 6:37am and the last train at 23:45 pm. You must buy the ticket from the train shelter.The journey takes around 3 hours and costs app. 10EUR. For the exact timetable please check http://cp.atlas.sk/vlak/spojenie/(just switch to English in the right bottom corner).
3. From Zvolen to Zajezova (location of eco-centre)
Once you get to the bus station in Zvolen, which is situated opposite the train station, look for platform number 15. All the buses from that platform go through the village of Pliesovce (village on halfway to Zajezova). They go frequently and it takes 30 minutes to get to Pliesovce from Zvolen. From Pliesovce to Zajezova the buses run at the following times: 6:45 (working days), 7:30 (weekends and holidays), 11:35(working days), 12:15 (only Sunday), 14:15 (working days except July, August, Christmas time), 15:30(Sunday and holidays), 16:10(working days), 19:00 (only Friday).
Direct buses between Zvolen and Zajezova leave Zvolen at 6:10 (working days), 11:00 (working days), 15:40 (working days). If you want to catch the last bus from Pliesovce to Zajezova on Friday, go by bus leaving Zvolen (platform 15) at 18:30 in direction to Litava. Get off in Pliesovce at 18:59 and wait a few minutes for bus to Zaježová.
On Sunday there is a bus at 11:00 which goes through Viglas and terminates in the top part of Zajezova (Podlysec). If you want to get to the centre from there, you will need to carry on walking down the valley for 20 minutes.
When buying a ticket, ask the driver for a ticket to the stop called “Bosakovci” and tell him to stop without notice because you don’t know where it is. You will recognise the bus stop easily - it is painted white in colour and has flowers and cats on it. Turn right from the main road and walk uphill. You will be walking uphill and will pass an old house on your left hand side. After about 12 minutes walking you will notice the farmhouse on the right hand side at a distance. That will be your destination – our Zajezova Education Centre.
